    Google Translate Disclaimer

    The Maryland Department of Information Technology (“DoIT”) offers translations of the content through Google Translate. Because Google Translate is an external website, DoIT does not control the quality or accuracy of translated content. All DoIT content is filtered through Google Translate which may result in unexpected and unpredictable degradation of portions of text, images and the general appearance on translated pages. Google Translate may maintain unique privacy and use policies. These policies are not controlled by DoIT and are not associated with DoIT’s privacy and use policies. After selecting a translation option, users will be notified that they are leaving DoIT’s website. Users should consult the original English content on DoIT’s website if there are any questions about the translated content.

    DoIT uses Google Translate to provide language translations of its content. Google Translate is a free, automated service that relies on data and technology to provide its translations. The Google Translate feature is provided for informational purposes only. Translations cannot be guaranteed as exact or without the inclusion of incorrect or inappropriate language. Google Translate is a third-party service and site users will be leaving DoIT to utilize translated content. As such, DoIT does not guarantee and does not accept responsibility for, the accuracy, reliability, or performance of this service nor the limitations provided by this service, such as the inability to translate specific files like PDFs and graphics (e.g. .jpgs, .gifs, etc.).

    DoIT provides Google Translate as an online tool for its users, but DoIT does not directly endorse the website or imply that it is the only solution available to users.     What is Medicaid?

    Medicaid is a public health insurance program. It is free or low-cost health insurance for eligible low-income adults, children, pregnant women, elderly adults, and people with disabilities. It is the largest health care program in the United States.

    In Maryland, Medicaid covers about 1.8 million people. Nearly one in four Marylanders get their health insurance through Medicaid. Half of those covered are children. Locally, people also call it Medical Assistance.

    ​The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) will submit a 1915(c) Home and Community-Based Services Waiver renewal application for the Waiver for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Autism Waiver) to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to renew the five year term for the Autism Waiver effective July 1, 2024.

    ​​eMedicaid Users:  On or about February 21, 2024,  you will need to use email multi-factor authentication to log in to your eMedicaid online account. You will need to enter a one-time passcode to access your account. Each time you log in, you will receive a temporary code by email. If your email address in your user profile is not up to date, you will not be able to access your account. Contact your local administrator if you are unable to access your account, need help to update your email address or to reset your password.​

    ​January 12, 2024 - Request for Public Comment

    The Maryland Department of Health is requesting public comment on a proposed amendment to the HealthChoice §1115 demonstration waiver to improve care for certain incarcerated populations who are soon to be released from state prison or jail. Eligible individuals will receive services up to 90 days prior to release including case management, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and a 30-day supply of prescribed medications upon release.     ​January 4, 2024 - Survey
    ​On January 3, Medicaid released the  Non Emergency Medical Transportation NEMT Transportation Provider survey. The survey is designed to gather stakeholder feedback regarding the establishment of a statewide rate/fee schedule as the administration moves from a local health department grant based NEMT model to procuring a transportation ASO. The survey will be open until March 4, 2024. Transportation providers in Maryland who provide, or are interested in providing, non emergency medical transportation for Maryland Medicaid are encouraged​ to take the survey.
