Maryland Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program

Created under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the Medicaid Electronic Health Record Incentive Program provides incentive payments to eligible professionals and hospitals to promote adoption of and meaningful use of interoperable health information technology and qualified electronic health records.

Maryland Medicaid is no longer accepting applications for new Electronic Health Record Incentive Program participants. Program Year 2016 was the last year to begin participation.

ATTENTION: Returning Meaningful Users may now attest in eMIPP for Program Year 2017

Earlier this year, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the 2018 Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS)/Long Term Acute Care Hospital (LTCH) PPS Final Rule. In the final IPPS rule, CMS modified the Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs for Program Years 2017 and 2018.

Maryland Medicaid has updated eMIPP to align with these federal requirements.

The deadline to attest for Program Year 2017 is April 13, 2018, for both Eligible Providers and Eligible Hospitals.
